8.1 Acoustic design must follow space function
The fundamentals of acoustic treatment can be applied to all interior spaces. However, it’s the specific function of a space and the needs of its inhabitants that ultimately informs what a given aural environment should feel like and what the specific design goals should be. When designed correctly, acoustics serve and enhance the purpose, inhabitants an d activities of a space.
